2012 - The year of NEFAB Declaration and Establishment

All documentation that is required for the declaration and establishment of NEFAB was submitted to the European Commission collectively by all NEFAB member states in December 2011. The NEFAB project is now well in advance of the requirements described in the Implementing Rule (EC Requirement 176/2011) that states that the information shall be submitted not later than 24th June 2012.

A cooperation agreement on the use of airspace within Northern Europe has been signed

Air navigation service providers in Northern European countries signed an agreement on the 1st December 2011 regarding airspace cooperation. The agreement was signed by the air navigation service providers of Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Iceland.

Latvian eAIP VFR is issued

In March 2011 the work on the electronic AIP VFR of Latvia creation was successfully completed. The new aeronautical information product was developed and produced in accordance with the EUROCONTROL eAIP specification, and for the first time was presented to aviation audience at ATC Global 2011 in Amsterdam.
