These four years are historically associated with the first big steps towards modernisation and growth of the company.
In 1993 the Swedish company CelsiusTech and Italian Alenia won the tender for Automated Air Traffic Control System (ATRACC) and a primary/ secondary radar system. Consequently, monopuls secondary radars (MSSR) were purchased from Alenia.
Pursuing modernization trends, LGS installed the voice communication management system from the Austrian company Frequentis in 1994 and the voice recording system RACAL Maxima from the UK company Racal in 1995. The AFTN centre from the German manufacturer Siemens was installed in 1995 as well.
Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the Air Traffic Control Centre building was launched by the Swedish company Skanska International AB.
A well-founded number of employees for a state owned enterprise was selected as well as investments went up at a fast rate reaching 4.8 million Lats in 1995. Profit of the company in 1995 reached the highest peak since the foundation. In 1995 LGS earned 2.6 million Lats. Also, fixed capital of the enterprise in the three years under review had considerably overgrown the starting capital and it was 3 million Lats in 1996.
